If you're considering getting a pet, please consider rescuing one from your local shelter or animal rescue group. I have always rescued my dogs & cats and they have all been wonderful pets. People give up their pets for all sorts of reasons....like divorce, moving, not enough time etc. Most of the time it's NOT because the animal is somehow bad. And remember that while living at a shelter, the animals are usually very scared and confused and so may not be their true selves. Give them a chance and you can end up with a very loving pet to share your life with.
